Yeshiva
Shavey Shomron lies near the foot of Mt. Ebal in the Northern Shomron. Mt Ebal is one of the two mountains mentioned
in the book of Joshua, along with Mt. Gerizim, as the mountains of blessing and
cursing. Shavey Shomron is one of the communities
encircling Shechem, the city of Josheph's tomb.
Shavey is located to the northwest of the Shechem, while communities of
Yitzhar, Har Bracha, Elon More, and Itimar surround the city from the other
sides. Such a biblical setting brings
freshness and inspiration to the study of Torah.
The
goal of the yeshiva is to cultivate within our students good middos, to foster
in them a love for learning Torah, and to develop in them yiras shamayim, the
fear of G-d. Our hope is that our
students will build and strengthen Am Yisrael, the Jewish people, in the
geulot, and in particular Israeli Jewry.
We are currently experiencing the return of the Jewish people to their
Torah and home land, and we are excited to see many of these returnees come to
Yeshiva Shavey Shomron.
This year, the yeshiva welcomed first year students from not only Israel but also from abroad. From such places as Switzerland, Holland, and France.
Yeshiva Kollel has a family atmosphere that is real and full of deep inner simcha. Rabbi Schmidt teaches and practices to see the good in everyone and in every situation.

The
yeshiva offers two tracks. The Hesder
track students combine the study of Torah with army service, serving in all
areas of the Israeli army. The Gavoah
track students learn Torah full-time.
Yeshiva Shavey Shomron is the northernmost yeshiva of the Shomron. It is a major drawing point and reason that
so many have chosen to call Shavey Shomron their home. We believe that building a large, strong
yeshiva in Shavey Shomron is equivalent to building up the whole area
